These sculptures are made from automobile parts and scrap metal collected, and the design and use of the components is ingenious. Some parts are modified but a great many are used 'as is' which highlights the artists' creativity and vision in finding ways to use components in a new way. This style of construction best showcases the artists' unique ability to see esthetic potential in the everyday world.
SHEET METAL :
The construction of these items employs shaping, cutting, and welding of metal objects ( found objects, sheet metal, etc ) and fashioning a sculpture. Because the various pieces are modified to suit a purpose, the sculptures can appear ready-made, requiring only assembly, but this is deceptive. These pieces actually require a longer period of construction and their unique qualities become apparent upon closer inspection.
